A case has been registered against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) against the ongoing protests in Nagpada, Mumbai on the lines of Shaheen Bagh in Delhi for the last two weeks. According to the police, a case has been registered against 300 women protesters and organizers who were protesting.

According to media reports, the Assistant Commissioner of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had filed a complaint at Nagpada Police Station on Friday evening. An official said that the complaint said that the protesters have built a platform on Moreland Road and have chairs on the road, which has disrupted traffic in the area. Due to this, construction work is not being done on the civic body Moreland Road.

He said that police have registered a case in this regard under sections 341 (wrongful restraint) and 34 (common criminal intent) of the Indian Penal Code and sections 313 and 314 of the BMC Act. After the case is registered, there are speculations that the protest will end soon.
