New Delhi: The Central Government, while giving information in the Parliament on Friday, has told that under the one country one ration card scheme, a ration card will be implemented in the entire country from June 1. This scheme is currently implemented in 12 states. Union Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Ram Vilas Paswan has given information in this regard in response to a supplementary question during the Question Hour in the Upper House of Parliament.
He said that 'One Country One Ration Card' scheme will be made effective from June 1 to provide facilities to those living below poverty line anywhere in the country. Ram Vilas Paswan has said that after the National Food Security Act was implemented in 11 states in 2013, now all the states have come under its purview. He has told that in the next phase of this scheme, the government took the initiative to issue a single ration card for the entire country on January 1, 12 states (Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala Karnataka, Rajasthan, Haryana, Tripura Goa, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh).
Ram Vilas Paswan clarified that one country one ration card will not require new cards. At the same time, Paswan alerted to the rumors of new cards being issued, saying that this is a game of middlemen, if the game is not stopped then the ministry will not back down from conducting a CBI inquiry.
