Mumbai: A Mumbai-bound innovator Nihal Singh Adarsh has done something that is being discussed everywhere. In fact, he has done something special for doctors and other medical staff who are fighting on the frontline during the coronal. Under the information received, he has invented a PPE kit that also has ventilation. Under the information received, this compact and very cheap innovation called 'Cov-Tech' can provide a boost to medical workers.

In fact, Nihaal Singh Adarsh, a second-year student of KJ Somaiya College of Engineering, created a belt-like wearable ventilation system for PPE outfits and named it Cov-Tech Ventilation System. Talking to a website recently, Nihal said, "The cov-tech ventilation system is like sitting under a fan even while you are inside a PPE suit. It takes the surrounding air, filters it and pushes it into ppe suits. Generally, due to lack of ventilation, this PPE suit gets hot and quite wet from the inside. This ventilation system prevents it from happening so that it does not heat up or sweat." At the same time, he further said, "These PPE suits are completely sealed like others and are capable of providing 100% protection against air borne diseases. It provides fresh air to the user in a span of only 100 seconds."

Nihal says, "I made it only to give relief to my mother, Dr. Poonam Kaur Adarsh, who is a doctor and treating Covid-19 patients at Adarsh Clinic, Pune. Nihal is 19-years-old and says, "My mother has been having to treat people by wearing PPE kits for the last one and a half years. She used to tell about the difficulties faced by wearing it every day. It was then that I came across an idea as to why a safe ventilation should not be arranged in PPE suit. However, i was inspired to participate in a design challenge for covid related devices organized by technical business incubator, Research Innovation Incubation Design Laboratory.''

Nihal reportedly developed the first model in 20 days under the guidance of Dr Ulhas Kharul of National Chemical Laboratory, Pune. Let us also tell you that Dr. Ulhas runs a start-up who is researching a membrane to filter the air, and the aim is to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
