Bengaluru: On Monday (April 4, 2022) in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, a 22-year-old youth was mercilessly stabbed to death by three youths for not speaking Urdu. The incident is from JJ Nagar police station area of Bangalore. According to reports, the deceased has been identified as Chandru, a resident of Jayamruthinagar. He had attended a party with his friends on Monday. At around 2.30 pm, he had left the house to have food.

As he passed near Haleguddahalli, his bike slightly collided with another bike. After which the bike rider Shahid Pasha started arguing with Chandru. When the altercation escalated, the accused Shahid stabbed Chandru with a knife. According to media reports, some other companions of Shahid Pasha also supported him in this. Actually, during the debate, Chandru spoke in Kannada language by talking in Urdu. An angry mob beat him up and then stabbed him with a knife. Critically injured Chandru was taken to the hospital, where he died during treatment.
The incident was captured in the CCTV installed on the spot. The accused Shahid Pasha and his friends are seen brutally stabbing Chandru in the CCTV. During this, they also waved swords and knives in the air to spread panic. It can be seen in the video that Chandru, who was seriously injured in the attack, begs the accused for his life and pleads to let him go from there, but it has no effect on the accused. Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant tweeted that Shahid stabbed Chandru on his right thigh and fled the spot. The Commissioner of Police said that Chandru is from the Christian community. He along with his friend Simon Raj had gone to have a meal at an eatery on Mysore Road. Police said that a case of murder has been registered against the three accused and they have been taken into custody for further investigation.
