Muzaffarpur: Several people have lost their lives across the country in the last few days, while five persons died and some others lost their health after consuming liquor in a village in Muzaffarpur in Bihar, three of whom are said to be in critical condition. Empty bottles of liquor and methyl alcohol were also seized from the house of one of the persons who lost his life, police said. The case pertains to Repura-Rupauli falling in the Saraiya police station area.

According to the same media reports, police have detained two persons in the case and sealed the house where the liquor was being consumed. One ward member Amit is among those arrested. The mahfil was reportedly adorned with the joy of the ward member winning. But the matter turned the whole atmosphere of celebration into mourning.

On the other hand, India has registered 549 deaths due to infection in the last 24 hours as well as 14,313 new cases of Covid-19. India saw a total of 13,543 discharges in the last 24 hours, the total recovery rate is around 98.19 per cent which is the highest since March 2020 and the total recovery data has reached 3,36,41,175. The ministry data shows that the total active cases of coronavirus in India have come down to 1,61,555. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, 60,76,62,619 samples have been tested for Covid-19 till October 29. Out of these, 11,76,850 samples were tested on Friday.
