Kohima: Corona cases are continuously increaing in the Nagaland. The state's corona tally rose to 8,296 with the report of 157 positive cases on Thursday. Principal secretary (home) Abhijit Sinha said that of the new cases, 119 are from Dimapur, 30 from Kohima, three from Peren, two each from Mokokchung and Kiphire and one from Mon. There are total 8,296 positive cases, 3,699 cases are from the armed forces/ police, 1,625 returnees, 2,575 traced contacts and 397 frontline workers.
Sinha further said that out of the 8,296 positive cases, 6,399 have recovered so far and 1,798 are active. There have been 22 deaths due to the virus. Talking about the symptomatic cases, he further said that 1,716 active cases are asymptomatic, 60 mild, 15 moderate and four severe cases are on oxygen and three are on the ventilator.
Sinha said that a total of 58,866 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 57,747 samples have been received. A total 32,289 samples have been forwarded for testing. The results of 32,228 samples have came out. Through Rapid Antigen Test, 3,406 samples have been tested.
