Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court has issued a direction last Friday to grant final bail to two ministers, an MLA and a former MLA arrested in the Narada sting operation case. In fact, instructions have been issued to these leaders to give private bonds worth two lakh rupees. All these leaders are currently in house arrest. Let us also tell you that a five-member bench of the Calcutta High Court today gave this direction during the hearing. In this direction, the Calcutta High Court has directed that no leader be interviewed in the matter.

A five-judge bench of the Calcutta High Court had adjourned the hearing till May 28 while hearing the case last Thursday. After the Calcutta High Court verdict, the four leaders will have to remain under house arrest. On the other hand, the High Court had allowed the State Government to be a party. The direction has now been given during the hearing of the case today. You must be aware that on 17th May, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Minister Firhad Hakim, Subrata Mukherjee, TMC MLA Madan Mitra and former Kolkata Mayor Shobhan Chatterjee in the Mamata Banerjee government in connection with the Narada sting operation case.

Last Tuesday, the CBI was allowed to withdraw its appeal against the Calcutta High Court order. In fact, it allowed four leaders, including three TMC leaders, to be kept under house arrest in the case. On May 21, the court had ordered the removal of two Bengal ministers, an MLA and a former Kolkata mayor from jail and house arrest.
