This day is celebrated at the national level to honour the significant contribution made by P.C Mahalanobis in the field of economic planning and development of the cultural sector. Because it is cost and time efficient, sample surveys and censuses reduce dependence. Administrative data are available at all levels of government, state and local bodies. Proper compilation of these data at various levels will ensure regular monthly and short-term flow of data. Themes selected in this way are extremely important.
