Amritsar: The results of the assembly elections held in five states are out on Thursday (March 10). The biggest reversal has been seen in Punjab, where the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has cleared the decks of Congress. Among them is the name of Punjab Congress unit president Navjot Singh Sidhu. Sidhu, who stepped into politics from cricket, could not get his sixer this time. They have suffered a humiliating defeat.

The Congress party, led by former India opener and noted commentator Navjot Singh Sidhu, has contested the Assembly elections in Punjab this time. Sidhu is the president of the party's state unit. They are following themselves in their seats. Sidhu tried his luck in Amritsar east seat, but he has suffered defeat at the hands of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Jeevan Jyoti Kaur. In his 18-year political career as an MP and MLA, no one was able to defeat him, but this time that too the myth was broken.

Before the elections, Sidhu's daughter Rabia had also visited her father's assembly constituency and vowed that she would not get married until papa won. However, now it will be interesting to see what Rabia does when her father is defeated in the election.
