These days due to heavy rains in many states, the freight work is getting badly affected. The prices of tomatoes and potatoes are increasing in Delhi's Mandis. This series continues during the last one month. During this time, where tomato is being sold at more than Rs 60 per kg in the retail market, the potato has also reached 40 rupees per kg.

Along with the capital, a dozen districts of NCR also have the same situation. There has also been a huge increase in the price of chilli with coriander and garlic. A vegetable seller in Sabzi Mandi located in Dariyaganj areas of Delhi told- 'Vegetables have become very expensive, sales decreased, people, are buying fewer vegetables due to inflation. Coriander is being sold at Rs 200 per kg and Mircha at Rs 50 per kg. Similarly, the price of garlic has also reached 150 rupees per kg".

According to the artisans in Okhla Fruit and Vegetable Market, vegetables coming from farmers from the surrounding areas have reduced. Due to rain, the arrival of tomatoes from Nashik and Indore is being affected, due to which the prices of tomatoes are expected to rise. During the lockdown 3-4 months ago, the jobbers had to suffer damage due to excess arrival and they threw away the remaining vegetables due to fewer customers. Now the farmer and the agent got some relief due to the cost of vegetables being expensive, but the consumers are in trouble.
