Rain! Floods submerge several villages in Rajkot and Jamnagar, 18 teams of NDRF present on spot

Ahmedabad: Incessant torrential rains in Jamnagar and Rajkot in Gujarat have led to flood-like situations. Gujarat's new CM Bhupendra Patel visited Dhunwav village in Jamnagar. This village is the worst affected by floods. In Gujarat, 18 teams of NDRF have been deployed at flood-prone places. At the same time, SDRF, police, and fire department are also engaged in rescue operations.

Gujarat NDRF Deputy Commandant Ranvijay Singh said 39 people have been rescued so far and 11 people have been evacuated. A body has also been recovered. Teams in Rajkot and Porbandar are engaged in relief and rescue operations. He said there are 20 teams of NDRF in Gujarat, out of which 18 teams have been deployed at places prone to rain. Two teams are placed in the reserve. CM Bhupendra Patel spoke to the villagers and enquired about the damage caused by the rains. CM Bhupendra assured all possible help from the state government to the flood victims. He assured the government of the help of all people and said that no one will be deprived of government help.

Not only in Jamnagar in Gujarat but also in Rajkot, the flood situation is critical, Rajkot Superintendent of Police Balram Meena said, adding that after heavy rains, the flood-like situation has prevailed in the lower reaches of Rajkot. Rescue operations are continuing for those affected. Heavy rains have flooded low-lying areas. Police, fire department, NDRF, SDRF, and other teams are working together to evacuate people to safer places. So far more than 3000 people from the entire district have been evacuated.
