On Wednesday, Higher Education Secretary Amit Khare told reporters that the government will give the world's highest-ranked universities a chance to open their campuses in the country. Every year seven and a half lakh students go to study abroad. To do this, they spend a hefty amount.

However, critics of this decision also say that why would the highest class universities want to open their own campuses in the country, when the Government of India has fixed the maximum fee limit under its new education policy. Meaning now universities will not be able to collect heavy fees. Prime Minister Modi along with the leftist leaders of the country has been opposing the efforts of the previous governments to approve foreign universities in India. But now the situation has changed. Many changes have been made in education policies, after 35 years, this important decision has been taken.
