Hoboken: During the morning rush hour on Thursday, a packed commuter train ploughed into a station in New Jersey, which killed one person and critically wounded over 100 people.

The train entered into Hoboken Station with high speed and failed to stop, which then crashed through the barriers and rammed into a wall, reported New Jersey transit official.

Video and photos posted on social media demonstrated severe damage to the transit core just across the Hudson River from Manhattan, with the train tousled in wires and debris from what seemed to be caved-in portions of the roof.

Kenneth Garay, chief medical officer at Jersey City medical center, said, “surgeons were all hands on deck treating patients with broken bones, internal injuries and scratches.”
