New Parliament Bldg is remarkable achievement: Naga Dy CM Zeliang

KOHIMA:  TR Zeliang, leader of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and deputy chief minister of Nagaland, stated on Friday that the Central government's opening of the new parliament building on May 28 is a "remarkable achievement" and that everyone should be proud of it.

The Deputy Chief Minister noted that the Parliament has been housed in this building for many years and that it was built by the British Indian government a long time ago. Everyone ought to like it since it's a good idea, he said.

He said that while there have been several disputes, if the idea is sound, people should work together. He said, "The building is important, which is a remarkable achievement of the Government of India; who inaugurates it is not important.We should all be grateful that a new development has occurred and having its own building to function both houses of parliament is a big success.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to dedicate the new Parliament building to the nation tomorrow,  Sunday, May 28. According to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Finance on Friday, PM Modi would introduce a coin with a value of Rs 75 to commemorate the opening of the new Parliament building. The coin's obverse will include the legend "Satyamev Jayate" below the Lion Capital of the "Ashoka Pillar" in the centre. The words 'Bharat' in Devnagri script will be on the left margin of the Ashoka Pillar and 'INDIA' in English will be on the right.

he Parliament Complex will be depicted on the coin's reverse side. 'Sansi Sankul' will be inscribed in Devnagari script on the upper periphery, and 'PARLIAMENT COMPLEX' will be engraved in English on the lower periphery. Additionally, the Ministry stated that the year '2023' in international numeral shall be written beneath the picture of the Parliament Complex.
