New Delhi: In the Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case, the Tihar Jail Administration will appeal to the Patiala House Court of Delhi to issue a new death warrant shortly. All the legal options of the four convicts of Nirbhaya are over. Now the Tihar administration will apply for a new death warrant in the court. President Ram Nath Kovind today dismissed the mercy plea of convict Pawan.

Nirbhaya Scandal: Hanging of convicts postponed for the third time

According to the jail manual, if a convict is hanged, he is given 14 days time, so that he can handle all his personal responsibilities. In this context, the hanging date can be given to the culprits in the third week of March. Now only one petition is pending in the Supreme Court in which the Central Government has asked that the four be hanged separately, but the Supreme Court made it clear that these four will be hanged together.

From the lower court to the top court, the four convicts Mukesh, Akshay, Vinay, and Pawan have been sentenced to death. Earlier, the curative petition of Pawan Gupta, convicted in the Nirbhaya case, was rejected by the Supreme Court. The convict Pawan demanded that the death sentence be commuted to life imprisonment.
