New Delhi: Pawan Gupta, the fourth convict in the Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case, has filed a curative petition in the top court against the execution of the sentence. Please tell that the trial court has issued a death warrant of 3 March to hang the four convicts in this case. There is every possibility that before March 3, March 2 i.e. next Monday, the top court will hear this petition and dismiss it, otherwise, Pawan's lawyers will demand from the Supreme Court that the death warrant of March 3 have stayed.

Although the President has the legal right to file a mercy petition after Pawan's curative petition, it takes three to four days for President Ram Nath Kovind to take a decision on mercy petition after dismissing the curative petition in the apex court. The death warrant is difficult to execute on this March 3, so after March 3, another death date is sure to be issued.
