In anticipation of the farmers' march towards Parliament, Noida Police has heightened security along its borders with Delhi. Traffic disruptions have been observed, particularly on routes like the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and DND due to the ongoing protest. Barriers have been set up at all Delhi borders as a precautionary measure. Senior officials are stationed at various points to manage traffic flow.

A traffic advisory has been issued, advising commuters to avoid certain routes in the twin cities due to the farmers' movement, especially those involving tractors.

A police spokesperson mentioned, "Barriers are being erected at all Delhi borders and at key points like Kisan Chowk. Vehicles are being checked thoroughly, causing traffic to move slowly." Continuous monitoring of traffic is underway.

Farmers, led by the Bharatiya Kisan Parishad (BKP), are scheduled to gather at the Mahamaya Flyover in Noida at 12:30 pm to proceed towards Parliament in Delhi to voice their longstanding demands.

Reasons Behind the Farmers' Protest

Farmers in Noida and Greater Noida have been protesting since December 2023, primarily demanding increased compensation and developed plots for land previously acquired by local authorities.

Groups such as Sanyukt Kisan Morcha and Akhil Bharatiya Kisan Sabha are advocating for 10% of abadi land.

Over the past five months, farmers from more than 40 villages have been camped out in Noida, with a two-month presence outside the Noida Authority's Sector 6 office.
