Novak Djokovic of Serbia, the world's No. 1 male tennis player, has made his place in the semi-finals of the Italian Open, but Spain's Rafael Nadal has been suspended from the tournament after losing in the quarter-finals. Djokovic defeated 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 after losing a set to Dominic Koeppfer of Germany. Djokovic took more than 2 hours to win the match.

Djokovic's anger again came in the middle of the match. He lost the racket to the ground after losing the service game. Djokovic was dismissed 2 weeks ago at the US Open because of a line judge hitting the ball.

The BBC quoted Djokovic as saying, "This is not the first or last time in my career that I have broken a racket. Sometimes I take my anger out like this. I am working on my mental and emotional health." Just the way I am working on my physical health. In the upcoming match, Djokovic will face Casper Rudd of Norway who beat Italy's Matteo Barretini 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-5). At the same time, Nadal was suspended by Argentina's Diego Schwartzman in straight sets 6–2, 7–5 from the quarter-finals. This is the first time that Nadal has lost against Diego.
