Agra: The ban imposed by the apex court on any type of construction in the Taj Trapezium Zone has been lifted. The top court had banned construction in the Taj Trapezium Zone in March 2018. In order to keep the Taj Mahal among the seven wonders of the world safe from pollution, the Supreme Court had announced the Taj Trapezium Zone. The Taj Trapezium Zone was declared on December 30, 1996, on the order of the apex court.

It is noteworthy that the construction of any type of construction was banned by the top court in the Taj Trapezium Zone in March 2018. There are more than 40 protected monuments in the Taj Trapezium Zone. Which includes three World Heritage Sites such as Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, and Fatehpur Sikri. At the same time, after the removal of the ban by the apex court, now with the permission of the Central Empowered Committee, more non-polluting construction work will be done for the basic facilities in the Taj Trapezium Zone. Due to the ban imposed by the apex court, no construction work of any kind could be done in this area.

At the same time, now the top court has removed the ban on it. Let us tell you that the Taj Trapezium Zone (TTZ) is a defined area of 10,400 sq km, on which the apex court gave a decision on 30 December 1996 to protect the monument from pollution. Public interest litigation was sought to direct the rescue of the Taj Mahal. In response to which this decision was given and the use of coal/coke in industries was banned.
