Shimla: Registration of vehicles will now become costlier in the country's state of Himachal Pradesh. The registration of the equipment used due to construction work will no longer be for one year, but for 15 years of other trains. Transport Minister Bikram Singh on Wednesday tabled the State Motor Vehicles Taxation Amendment Bill. Under this bill, registration of vehicles in the state will be costlier.

The bill for the amendment would require 7 per cent registration fee on motorcycles up to 50,000. The registration fee on motorcycles ranging from 51,000 to 2 lakh will be 8 per cent and the registration fee on motorcycles above 2 lakh will be 10 per cent. The registration of the train at a higher price will have to be charged 10 per cent.

In the past, 3 to 8 per cent registration fee was being charged on motorcycles, cars in Himachal Pradesh. If people from outside states register vehicles in Himachal Pradesh, they will be charged an additional 2 per cent registration fee. Registration fees are charged at the same rate in other states of the state except Himachal Pradesh. The registration of equipment used under the bill will now be for 15 years as in other trains. At the same time, there can be many changes, and the registration people will have to pay heavy fine.
