New Delhi: A poor marketing strategy of e-commerce site 'Nykaa' has emerged in Navratri, the holy festival of Hindus. They have tried to sell condoms in the name of Navratri dedicated to Durga Puja. In this, they have tagged Sale and offered a discount of more than 40 per cent. A Twitter user named Sunaina Holey took screenshots of the offer and shared it on Twitter.

She tagged Nykaa and asked, 'What's the logic of Navratri and sex. Hindus celebrate this divine festival & worship, 9 Goddesses, for 9 days. Durga/Kali Puja is synonymous with Navaratri, wherein goddess Durga battles & emerges victorious over the buffalo demon Mahishasur to help restore dharma.' Sunaina further said, "Stop insulting the deities and festivals of Hindus. The extent to which it is tolerated. It is better for you to stop promoting condoms in the name of Navratri.'' He has also tagged the Legal Rights Observatory and asked it to take cognizance of the matter.

Following Sunaina's tweet, many people have commented on Nykaa. One user said, "Give such an ad on Ramadan, Eid, Thanksgiving, Good Friday, Christmas. Why such discounts on Hindu festivals every time?'' Santosh writes, 'We have to boycott it completely. It is very poor and humiliating. I say how can you do such a derogatory thing in such a holy week? It is really substandard and it should be dealt with legally. A lot of freedom is threat.''
