ODISHA: With the ruling Biju Janata Dal's fifth term coming to an end on May 29, 2022, all of the state's ministers have submitted their resignations ahead of the much-anticipated Cabinet reshuffle. The reorganisation is being touted as a major effort to rebuild and revitalise the party ahead of the key general elections in 2024.

All 20 ministers, according to sources, have submitted their resignations to the Speaker of the Odisha Legislative Assembly. Tomorrow, Sunday at 11.45 a.m., the new cabinet ministers will be sworn in at the Raj Bhavan convention hall. Pradip Amat and Latika Pradhan are expected to be given ministerial berths, according to sources.

However, sources say that portfolios are unlikely to be assigned to the new Cabinet Ministers tomorrow.

On the orders of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Commerce and Transport Minister Padmanabh Behera, Information and Public Relations Minister Raghunandan Das, Steel and Mines Minister Prafulla Kumar Mallik, and Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Premananda Nayak have all resigned from their positions.
