Jaipur: Omicron, a new variant of corona virus, has started spreading in Rajasthan's Sikar district. Another corona infected Omicron was found on Monday after a Omicron variant was confirmed in genome sequencing of a sample of a male and two women in Ajitgarh town of the district. Now the total number of omicron infected people in the state has increased by 18.

The new case of Ajitgarh town belongs to the same family of the bride from Ajitgarh in Sikar district. A 13-year-old girl who was found infected with corona last week has been confirmed Omicron after her genome was sined. The family arrived in Jaipur on November 28 at a family wedding ceremony in South Africa. This is the fourth case of Omicron from the same family. Sikar Chief Medical Health Officer Dr Ajay Chaudhary informed that the girl's first two consecutive corona tests were found negative. In Ajitgarh, corona test of all the four Omicron cases was found negative and they are all recovering.

Since the genome sequencereport comes 5 days after taking the samples, the girl's investigation report came out on Monday, although the girl's health is stable at the moment and has mild symptoms. We have instructed the family to stay separate for at least seven days even if they have recovered, Chaudhary said.
