New Delhi: Cases of new Omicron variants of corona virus are on the rise. So far, 33 people in India have been affected by this variant. Scientists are still collecting information about Omicron variants. Amidst all this, experts believe that high zero positivity rate is likely to keep well. Experts have instructed to follow vaccination and covid guidelines.

Talking to media, former Director of CSIR Centre for Cellular and Molecular (CCMB) Rakesh Mishra said that India has the benefit of 70-80 per cent zero positivity. More than 90 per cent of the people in big cities already have antibodies. Mishra, current director of Tata Institute for Genetics and Society (TIGS), Bengaluru, has said that given the security available to the people, even if someone is infected, the effect will be mild. It will not be very effective.

Rakesh Mishra has further said that if the scope of vaccination is further widened and children are vaccinated, it will help in a big way. Talking about the dangerous Omicron variant, he has said that preliminary data is still in the offing. And according to initial data, its symptoms are mild.
