Ranchi: Corona's new variant 'Omicron' has created a hue and cry across the country, while the High Court has lashed out at the government for its lax arrangements at Rims Hospital in Jharkhand. Hearing the arrangements made on coronavirus, Chief Justice of the High Court Dr. Raviranjan questioned the government as to what steps have been taken so far to protect against omicrons. What is the rescue plan? But on not getting a clear answer from the government, the High Court reprimanded it and remarked whether Omicron will go away in the state with a ruckus, then Jharkhand will come with the Genome Sequencing Machine.

In the reply given by the government in the court, it was told that the sample of corona positive patient is sent to Bhubaneswar for genome sequencing, due to which there is a delay in getting the test report. On this, the High Court had directed to make genome sequencing tests available in the state.

It was informed by the State Government that the process of procuring two machines for the state is underway to identify the new variants. It may take about a month. It was pointed out by the Government that these machines are very expensive and are made by limited companies. One machine will be installed at RIMS and the other at MGM Jamshedpur Medical College.
