Mumbai: Onion prices have reached Rs 8000 per quintal in Mandi Samiti of Nashik district of Maharashtra. Rabi onion has increased to Rs 8000 per quintal. Due to this, onion prices have reached 80 rupees in the retail market in Navi Mumbai and Mumbai in Maharashtra. If the situation remains the same, onions can reach beyond 100 rupees per kg across Maharashtra along with Mumbai.

In Navi Mumbai and Mumbai, good quality onions are being sold up to 80 rupees per kg in the retail market. The price of red onion is 60 rupees per kg. On Friday, the price of onion has increased to Rs 8000 per quintal in Maharashtra's Devla Bazaar Committee. Due to the increase in prices of onion in the mandis of Nashik, onion can reach Rs 100 in all metros. There is a total of 23 market committees in the Nashik district.

In such a situation, onion can go beyond 10 thousand rupees for one quintal by next week.
