NEW DELHI: In a bid to address the escalating violence in Manipur, Opposition MPs from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) have taken action in the Rajya Sabha. On Friday, AAP MP Raghav Chadha and RJD MP Manoj Kumar Jha submitted notices, urging for a discussion on the pressing issue.

Raghav Chadha emphasized the "breakdown of law and order in the state of Manipur due to the failure of both the Central and State governments." In his notice, he expressed concern about the loss of precious lives, attributing it to the incompetence of the authorities.

On the other hand, Manoj Kumar Jha, through his notice, demanded a "discussion on the failure of both Union and State governments in restoring peace and maintaining law and order in Manipur." Additionally, he sought a statement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Manipur issue, followed by a comprehensive debate.

The situation in Manipur has been dire, with ethnic clashes that began on May 3 resulting in numerous casualties and thousands seeking refuge in relief camps.

In a parallel move, Congress MP Manish Tewari submitted a notice for an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha, calling for a discussion on the border situation with China. He urged the Government to provide updates on the border dispute, efforts to mediate and find a resolution, and policies aimed at preserving and protecting India's integrity against potential Chinese aggressions.
