Bhopal: The strike by junior doctors in several medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh, including the capital Bhopal, has come to an end in the recent past amid the corona crisis in Madhya Pradesh. Let us also tell all of you that junior doctors were agitating since 31st May over their demands. In fact, there are junior doctors in Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jablappur, Rewa and Sagar, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, and the strike was going on here. The junior doctors' strike, which started on May 31, ended after 8 days. The government and junior doctors had been talking for nearly eight days and after the final talks held last Monday, the junior doctors decided to call off the strike.
Junior doctors say they have taken this decision in the interest of patients in view of the high court's honour. Now, according to recent information, the government has immediately fulfilled the demand of junior doctors to increase their stipend and has also issued an order under it. Let me tell all of you that the Department has increased the monthly stipend of doctors in government medical colleges. Following the order issued by the Department of Medical Education, the monthly stipend of junior doctors in government medical colleges has been increased by 17 per cent.
It is also being said that initially the demand for junior doctors was to grow by 24 per cent, but later it was reduced to 17 per cent. You must be aware that first the junior doctors in Gwalior and Rewa called off their strike, returned to work in Gwalior. After that, officials of The State Juda in Bhopal met Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang and announced the end of their strike.
