Bhubaneswar: Odisha has registered 754 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total corona cases in the state to 10,09,223. Meanwhile, the death toll has risen to 8,028 after 6 people died of the corona. A health department official informed that there are now 7,241 active cases in the state and 9,93,901 patients have recovered from the disease so far.
According to the health department, 2,317 patients recovered from corona on Friday. Out of the new deaths reported from 15 districts, Khurda alone reported 25 deaths, followed by Ganjam with 8, Sundargarh 7, Mayurbhanj and Puri 6-6, Bargarh 4 and Nayagarh 3. A total of 53 other corona patients have also died due to comradiity. The latest cases found in all 30 districts include 510 cases of Khurda, Cuttack (308), Jajpur (175), and Balasore (161).
Khurda district has recorded the highest number of 261 new cases of infection. Bhubaneswar falls under this district. This was followed by 110 cases in Cuttack and 43 in Balasore. There was no new case in Gajapati and Swarnapur. Four patients lost their lives in Khurda. In Cuttack and Jajpur, one patient each lost his life. State that the death rate in Odisha is 0.79 percent, which is one of the lowest mortality rates in the country.
