Former American footballer Matthew A. Cherry won the Academy Oscar Award for his animated short film 'Hair Love' on Sunday night. He has directed the film. Matthew has become the second athlete to receive this award. Earlier, the late American basketball player Kobe Bryant won the Academy Award in 2018. Bryant directed the animated short film Dear Basketball. On 26 January this year, 7 people, including Bryant and his daughter, were killed in a helicopter crash. The 92nd Academy Awards were held at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.

Matthew has dedicated this award to Bryant. He has made the film 'Hair Love' with an aim to end discrimination against hair. The story of this film is based on the life of a man who groomed his daughter's hair for the first time. This film has been produced by Karen Rupert Toliver.

The South Korean film 'Parasite' has created history by winning the Oscar for Best Picture, defying the claims of film critics. The film 'Parasite' has become the first non-English film to win an Oscar. The film has won a total of four awards - Best Original Screenplay, Best Film, Best Director and Best International Feature Category. At the same time, Rini Jaelweger has been chosen as the best actress for the film 'Judy'. Bong Joon Ho won the title of Best Director for the film 'Parasite'.
