Mumbai: A war has raged on from UP to Maharashtra over loudspeakers. Amidst all this, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has opposed the removal of loudspeakers from the mosque. He said, "There should not be an attempt to create a new war by removing the loudspeaker from the mosque. Not only that, he said, if anyone comes to remove the loudspeaker from the mosque, then his party will guard the mosque and will also oppose the removal of the loudspeaker.''
Ramdas Athawale had arrived at the inaugural function of Ambedkar Sanskar Bhawan at Khopoli in the Raigad district. In response to a question here, he said, "I am with Narendra Modi, my party is with the BJP. I am with Devendra Fadnavis. I said don't talk about removing the loudspeaker. If you want to install a loudspeaker, you can install it. You can install loudspeakers in your temple. Can recite the Hanuman Chalisa. But there should not be an attempt to create new disputes.''
These days, the issue of loudspeakers is covered from Uttar Pradesh to Maharashtra. Recently, Maharashtra Nav Nirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray had given an ultimatum that loudspeakers should be removed from all mosques in the state by May 3. He had said that if loudspeakers are not removed from mosques, MNS workers will recite Hanuman Chalisa by installing loudspeakers in front of mosques across the state.
