New Delhi: Corona cases are on the rise in the country's capital Delhi. At the same time, Delhi hospitals are facing a major oxygen crisis. Delhi may get some relief from this crisis tonight. In fact, the first Oxygen Express carrying four tankers of a total of 70 tonnes of oxygen will reach the capital on Monday night from Jindal Steel Plant in Raigad on Sunday night. Railway Board Chairman Sunit Sharma has informed me about this.

He said 'Railways have planned to deliver oxygen from Angul, Kalingnagar, Rourkela, and Raigad to Delhi and National Capital Region (NCR)'. Sharma further said that the Delhi government has been instructed to keep road tankers ready to get oxygen. Sunit Sharma said, "The first Oxygen Express will leave for Delhi with 70 tonnes of oxygen in four tankers. The express will arrive at Delhi Cantonment on Monday night with oxygen from Jindal Steel Work in Raigad". Railways have decided to run oxygen express to meet the increased demand for oxygen due to increasing in corona cases in many areas.

Sharma further said, "So far we have sent 150 tonnes of oxygen to Maharashtra and UP and will supply 150 tonnes more oxygen tonight. Delhi is all set to bring four tankers to the Jindal Steel Factory in Raigad". Officials said the Delhi government in a letter to the Railways had asked it to facilitate oxygen unloading at nine locations.
