NEW DELHI: Former Finance Minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram has filed his reply in the Supreme Court on an affidavit filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Chidambaram has dismissed the ED allegations that all assets and bank accounts that ED is referring to are valid. The Enforcement Directorate did not file any affidavit in the High Court. The order was issued on the basis of just one note.

It is worth mentioning here that former Finance Minister and veteran Congress leader P. Chidambaram is being tried in the Supreme Court in the INX media case. While he is in the custody of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) till August 30, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is also gearing up to clamp down on him in the same case.

Chidambaram has filed his reply on Tuesday during a hearing in the supreme court on the same issue today. On Monday, Chidambaram's lawyers had argued and filed their reply today. The ED has to file its reply in the court today. Earlier, the court had dismissed the anticipatory bail plea filed in the Chidambaram CBI case and asked the trial court to file a regular bail petition.
