Chidambaram attacks BJP, says 'The country's economy is constantly sinking'

The Congress party has been opposing the Citizen Amendment Bill for a long time, but it is rarely seen talking on the issue of development. Now the Congress party has changed its tone to some extent. Congress leader and former Finance Minister P Chidambaram said that the country's economy is constantly sinking and the Modi government is not able to figure out how to deal with this situation. He also accused the government in talking to journalists on Monday that the amended Citizenship Act (CAA), National Citizen Register (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR) are part of the RSS-BJP's plan of Hindu Rashtra.

In his statement, Chidambaram said that oil prices are continuously increasing due to the Iran-US crisis. If this situation remains, then there may be an economic situation like 1991 but the government is unable to deal with this situation wisely. NRC-CAA-NPR is part of the RSS-BJP plan to carry forward the divisive agenda of the Hindu nation. The Constitution of India symbolizes the values of equality, equal protection of laws, secularism, humanism and constitutional ethics.

Apart from this, he said, we are grateful that students and youth are at the forefront of the protest. When we see thousands of young men and women standing for freedom, equality, equal protection of law, pluralism, secularism and constitutional morality, then we get satisfaction.
