Pakistan: Bomb blast outside Balochistan University kills one policeman, injures many

Islamabad: A massive bomb blast in Pakistan's Balochistan on Monday rocked the capital Quetta. The blast took place outside Balochistan University. One policeman is said to have lost his life while 17 others are said to be injured in the incident. At present, the authorities have reached the spot and started investigating the case.

Balochistan official spokesperson Liaquat Shahwani said that a police truck was parked outside the university gate. The bomb blast targeted the same truck. For this, the bomb was planted on a bike parked nearby. Shahwani said those responsible for the incident will not be spared. He said the injured are undergoing treatment.

A spokesperson for the Government Hospital in Quetta said, 13 policemen were injured in the incident while four people standing nearby also sustained injuries. Students present at the university are being evacuated under security cover after the blast. Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langov said the attack was aimed at students but the attackers targeted the police cordon after seeing tight security guard.
