Islamabad: PM Imran Khan has suffered a major setback amid the ongoing political earthquake in Pakistan. The Muttahida Quami Movement Pakistan (MQM-P), an ally in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, has decided to withdraw its support to the Imran Khan-led government. According to media reports from Pakistan, MQM-P has announced to go into opposition to topple Imran Khan's government in a no-confidence motion tabled in the National Assembly of Pakistan.

PPP President Bilawal Bhutto Zardari tweeted on Wednesday (30 March 2022) morning that an agreement has been reached between the united opposition and the MQM. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari wrote that 'Raabta Committee MQM and PPP CEC will ratify that agreement. After that, we will share the details with the media in a press briefing to IA tomorrow. Congratulations Pakistan. MQM veteran Faisal Sabzwari also confirmed this and said that the agreement has been finalized and full details will not be given soon.

Imran Khan is left with no option but to resign from the post of PM after the late-night developments ahead of the vote on the no-confidence motion, as the PTI government has lost its majority in the Lok Sabha. At the same time, amid reports of resigning from the post of PM, Imran said that he will not leave the post. He also said in the cabinet meeting that I will not resign today, will play till the last over and the last ball.'
