Asif Ghafoor also said that nothing would have been achieved without commitment, dedication and sacrifice. Heroes make sacrifices for the betterment of generations to come today. The ban has been imposed in several areas of Srinagar city and other places in the valley on Monday to prevent protests organized by separatists on the anniversary of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani.

These restrictions have not only stopped shops, businesses and transportation but also blocked internet services, and even the pilgrims' band for the annual Amarnath Yatra was stopped from leaving in view of security. Wani along with two of his accomplices was killed in an encounter with security forces in Kokernag area of Anantnag district on July 8, 2016.
