Islamabad: Another case of atrocities on minorities has come to light in Pakistan. In Peshawar, a Sikh doctor was shot dead in broad daylight at his clinic. According to local media, the deceased has been identified as Satnam Singh. Satnam was shot in total. He was treating patients in his clinic when he was shot. The accused also escaped easily from the spot after committing the crime.

Both Satnam Singh's house and clinic were located on Charsada Road in Peshawar. He had arrived in Peshawar from Hassan Abgal the day before. According to local police, the attackers, who were more than one, entered Satnam's clinic and started firing indiscriminately at him. Satnam was then rushed to a hospital with injuries where he succumbed to death. Peshawar police said in a statement that the case is under investigation. Junaid Akbar, director of Peshawar development authority, was killed in the same area last July. He was leaving his house for office at that time. His killers are also out of police custody so far.

Incidents of atrocities on minorities have increased rapidly in Pakistan for some time now. For some time now, incidents of killing of minorities, conversions, demolition of their temples have become common. Many international organisations have also slammed Pakistan for not being able to stop atrocities on minorities, yet Pakistan is not taking any action against the fundamentalists.
