New Delhi: After a lot of confusion, the Sri Lankan team reached Pakistan to play the series. Yesterday i.e. Monday, the ODI international match was played between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at the National Cricket Stadium in Karachi. After more than ten years, the Sri Lankan team played an ODI on Pakistan's home. However, in this match, the Sri Lankan team was defeated by the Pakistan team due to the century of Babar Azam and the fatal bowling of Usman Shinwari.

It is known that in the year 2009, there was a terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore, Pakistan. Several Sri Lankan team players were injured in this attack, while many others died. The Sri Lankan team never showed the courage to go on a tour to Pakistan after getting out of this dreadful scene, but the Sri Lankan Cricket Board signed an agreement with the Pakistan Cricket Board to send their young team to visit Pakistan, where the team was reduced to 3-3 matches for T20 and ODI series.

A T20 match has been played between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in these ten years, but for the first time, an ODI match was played on Monday 30 September. Earlier, when the Sri Lankan team left the hotel for Karachi Stadium, Pakistan gave tight security to the visiting team. The Pakistan Cricket Board promised to provide full security to the Sri Lankan team. Responding to this, the Government of Pakistan provided more than three dozen (about 42) vehicles to the Board, in which armed men were present.
