Raisen: Under the Panchayat Raj Act, in order to improve the economic condition of 498 gram panchayats of the district, tax will be strictly collected in rural areas. Recently, taxes levied under the Panchayat Raj Act are being reviewed. Many such districts where gram panchayats have not even collected the prescribed tax. Strict action will be taken for recovery in those areas. Compulsory voluntary and alternative tax is levied in gram panchayats. But except a few gram panchayats, there are a large number of such gram panchayats, where the tax collection figure is less or less.

House, electricity and water tax are charged under compulsory tax in gram panchayats. Due to which preparation is being done to collect tax from every region. This is being done so that development work can be done rapidly in rural areas. Along with that, basic facilities can also be provided to them. At present, tax is collected in only a few gram panchayats of the district. In which there are some areas falling under Bari Janpad Panchayat like Bharkachh, Gadarwas, Aliganj, Mangrol, Gaura Machwai and Janpad Panchayat. There are 56 village panchayats, which have a population of more than 5 thousand.

In these taxes, compulsory tax of buildings and street lights is collected by burning the tap-water scheme. This tax is a voluntary tax which is collected from shops, retail traders. And for alternative tax fair, show room opening or other big venues. Government level orders for this tax have come in the department. Now further action will be ensured on this soon. The purpose of taking these taxes is clearly visible. Tax will be collected to increase the rate of development.
