The injuries were sustained by her during the early stages of the Paralympics. She had entered the quarterfinals even after an injury. But now her swelling has increased and there is also a possibility of a hairline fracture. Rio Paralympic bronze medalist Deepa Malik has given this information.

Malik tweeted, 'It is sad to say that our Tigress Aruna Tanwar has been injured during her bout. Hairline Francher is suspected. She won his first match by a good margin. However, there was no energy in the second match due to injury. The swelling has increased and she needs medical observation.'
