Pakistan Cricket Board CEO Wasim Khan has said that the Asia Cup will be held this year in Sri Lanka or United Arab Emirates (UAE) as per the pre-determined schedule. Khan dismissed speculations that the Asia Cup could be canceled for the currently suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) event. "Asia Cup will be organized," he told the press conference. Pakistan's team will return from England on September 2 and we can organize the tournament in September or October. ''

Wasim Khan said, "Some things will be clear at the right time. We hope to organize the Asia Cup because there are not many cases of coronavirus in Sri Lanka. If they cannot organize it, then the UAE is ready.” Pakistan has hosted this tournament. Khan said that Pakistan has agreed to hold the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka in exchange for the next regional competition.

He also confirmed that the Pakistan Cricket Board is working on the options of playing the cricket series in October and November in the event of the T20 World Cup not being organized. Khan said, "We have to go to New Zealand tour in December and host Zimbabwe before that. South Africa is ready to visit Pakistan in January and February for two or three Tests and some T20 matches."
