Srinagar: Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti has alleged that her party's candidate in the District Development Council (DDC) election has been detained before nomination. She has demanded the release of her candidate.

Mehbooba Mufti tweeted on Saturday that the Indian government is preventing non-BJP parties from participating in the DDC elections. Bashir Ahmed of PDP was taken into custody in Pahalgam citing security while there were complete arrangements for security. Mehbooba Mufti wrote while tagging Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha, Today is the last day of nomination. Along with this, he has spoken to the District Collector of Anantnag for the release of the PDP candidate.

The process of election of DDC in Jammu and Kashmir is going on. At the same time, the BJP leaders are continuously attacking the Abdullah family and Mehbooba Mufti over the secret agreement. On the other hand, Mehbooba Mufti said that BJP is trying to dismiss people's discontent and real issues.
