New Delhi: It is getting cold in North India including UP, and Bihar. Along with this, the suffering of fog is also falling. Although, the national capital Delhi and surrounding areas are seeing slight fog today (Wednesday), January 4. East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are getting to see dense fog. Traffic is being affected due to low visibility. At the same time, trains coming to Delhi from different parts of the country are also being affected. Trains coming to Delhi from many states including UP-Bihar are running late by several hours from their scheduled time.

Some trains coming to Delhi from different parts of the country are running late by up to 4 hours. The effect of fog is visible on both super fast and premium trains. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), at 5.30 am, visibility has been recorded at 50 meters in Amritsar, Punjab, and 50 meters in Patiala. At the same time, Chandigarh and Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh also had 25-meter visibility. Along with this, visibility remained up to 50 meters in Jhansi, Gwalior, and Ranchi.

The report says that it is snowing heavily in the mountains, while cold waves and fog are wreaking havoc in the plains. In Delhi, the temp stood at 7.6 degrees at 5.30 am, which is about three and a half degrees less than normal. Dense fog has reduced visibility in all the plains. Visibility has reached 25 meters in Punjab's Amritsar, Churu, and Ganganagar, West UP.

In its forecast, the Meteorological Department has predicted dense fog in many areas and the effect of cold waves will continue in some places till January 6. According to IMD, dense fog and cool day conditions will prevail over the plains of North India for the next few days. A cold wave is going to continue in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and North Rajasthan for the next four days.
