Indian Oil cuts "Cheer" : Petrol, diesel prices slash by 1 paisa, not 60 paise

NEW DELHI: India's leading fuel retailer - Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) cut the short lived cheer among consumers over petrol, diesel price as after depicted slashes in metropolitan city, corrected that earlier figures in which Petrol prices went down not by 60 paise in Delhi & 59 paise in Mumbai but by just 1 paise.

Apart from that Diesel prices also went down by just 1 paise instead of 56 paise in Delhi & 59 paise in Mumbai.

IOCL called it a courtesy error in the official website .It is noted that Petrol and diesel prices were actually cut by 1 paisa per litre each in the capital city of Delhi on Wednesday instead of a larger cut that was reported earlier.

Here is the earlier prices

- Delhi: Rs 77.83 per litre

 -Mumbai: 85.65; Kolkata: 80.47

-Chennai: 80.80.

 And the cost of diesel per litre as on Wednesday:

 Rs 68.75 per litre in Delhi,

Rs 73.20 per litre in Mumbai,

Rs. 71.30 in Kolkata

Rs. 72.58 in Chennai.

“There was a technical glitch in posting the selling prices of petrol and diesel on our website today. The selling prices of petrol and diesel w.e.f 30th May 2018 have been rectified on our website. Today, there is a minor reduction in fuel prices”, Indian Oil Corporation

On a related note, this is the first time in 16 days that prices have been cut since May 14 when fuel retailers ended a 19-day pre-Karnataka poll interruption to pass on a spike in international oil rates.
