New Delhi: State-owned oil companies have increased the prices of petrol and diesel for the 7th consecutive day on Monday. Today, the price of petrol in Delhi has been increased by 30 paise and that of diesel by 35 paise per litre. After the increase in the prices of petrol and diesel, the price of petrol in Delhi has gone up to Rs 104.44 and that of diesel to Rs 93.17 per litre.

Petrol and diesel prices have increased 10 times in 11 days this month. Petrol has become costlier by Rs 2.80 and diesel by Rs 3.30 in the last 11 days. Anuj Gupta, Vice President (Commodity & Currency), IIFL Securities says that due to increased demand for crude oil, its prices have crossed $ 80 and they can go up to $ 90 in the coming days. In such a situation, petrol and diesel may become more expensive in the coming days.

Let us inform you that on January 1 this year, petrol was being sold at the rate of Rs 83.97 and diesel at Rs 74.12 per litre, which is today at Rs 104.44 and Rs 93.17 per litre respectively. That is, in less than 10 months, petrol has become costlier by Rs 19.57 and diesel by Rs 18.06. On Friday, Brent crude had closed at $ 83.53 per barrel in the US market. This is the highest level of crude oil in 3 years. Earlier in October 2018, crude oil had crossed $83.
