Islamabad: The general public in Pakistan is groaning badly due to inflation. The government of the neighboring country has once again increased the prices of petrol. Oil prices have been increased for the third time in the last 20 days. After the increase in oil prices by Rs 24 per liter, petrol is being sold in Pakistan at a record price till now (about Rs 234).

Pakistan's Finance Minister Mifta Ismail announced on the previous day that the government is no longer in a position to bear the subsidy on petroleum products, so it has decided to increase the price of petrol by Rs 24,03, which will reduce it to Rs 233.89 (Pakistani Rs) per liter to a record high level. The minister said that from June 16, the price of one liter of petrol would be Rs 233.89, diesel Rs 263.31, kerosene Rs 211.43 and light diesel oil Rs 207.47. At the beginning of the press briefing, Mifta criticized the policies of the previous Imran government. According to him, 'the previous government spoiled the economy of the country.'

Miftah further said that, 'Imran Khan deliberately reduced the price of petrol by giving subsidy.' He said that the present government is bearing the brunt of those decisions. He said that at present, Pakistan is incurring a loss of Rs 24.03 on petrol, Rs 59.16 on diesel, Rs 39.49 on kerosene and Rs 39.16 on light diesel oil per litre. He said that in May this deficit has exceeded 120 billion.
