Lucknow: Samazwadi Party (SP) national president and former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav has attacked the central government over petrol and diesel prices. Akhilesh Yadav has said that the price of a litre of petrol will be 275 rupees by the time the next elections are over. At the same time, the SP chief has also explained the whole math about this figure. On Saturday, fuel prices have increased for the 10th time in the last 12 days.

On this, Akhilesh tweeted, "People are saying that if the price of petrol continues to increase by 80 paise per day or about Rs 24 per month, then the next elections will be held in November-December, in the meantime, in 7 months, the price will increase by about Rs. 175, which means petrol will increase to Rs. 275 a litre from today's Rs. 100 a litre. This is the math of BJP's inflation!' It is worth mentioning that on Saturday, the price of diesel has also crossed the Rs 100 mark.

On the other hand, the government has been repeatedly saying that the strings of price rise are linked to the Ukraine war. It has been almost five weeks since the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Meanwhile, the opposition said that the government was waiting for the completion of assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Uttarakhand, Goa and Punjab to increase fuel prices.
