New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently said, "The khadi that was once forgotten has become a brand today.'' At the same time, the Prime Minister mentioned the success of government efforts to promote handicrafts in the country. In fact, Prime Minister Narendra Modi while interacting with the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana online in Madhya Pradesh last Saturday said, "A massive campaign has been launched in the country to empower villages, poor, tribals. This campaign is to encourage our handicrafts, handlooms, our workmanship of clothes. This campaign is about a vocal approach to the locality. It is with this spirit that the country is celebrating National Handloom Day today, the khadi which was once forgotten has become a new brand today.''

At the same time, he added, "Now that we are embarking on a new journey towards 100 years of independence, we have to strengthen that spirit of Khadi for freedom. For a self-reliant India, we have to be vocal for the locals.'' Meanwhile, the Prime Minister expressed concern over the rain floods in several districts of Madhya Pradesh and said, "The livelihood of many colleagues has been affected both. In this hour of difficulty, the Government of India stands with the entire country, Madhya Pradesh. India gave top priority to the poor in its strategy to deal with the crisis arising out of corona. Whether it is Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana or Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Rozgar Yojana, from day one, the food employment of the poor laborers was worried.''

PM further said, "Just yesterday, India has crossed the crucial stage of administering 500 million vaccine doses. There are many countries in the world whose India is vaccinating more than the total population in a week. This is the new power of a new India, a self-reliant India.''

At the same time, the Prime Minister said, "Lakhs of crores of rupees have been provided to small, small, and micro industries to continue their work. Today, if the schemes of the Government are reaching the ground fast, implementing, there is a change in the functioning of the Government. There was a distortion in the previous government system. Over the years, efforts have been made to give strength to the poor, true empowerment. Today, the roads that are being constructed in the villages of the country are creating new jobs, farmers have access to the markets, in the event of illness, they are able to reach the hospital at a poor time.''
