Durg (Chhattisgarh): In a scathing attack on Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized his alleged involvement in a betting app deal during a rally in Durg. The Prime Minister accused the Congress of exploiting the people of Chhattisgarh.

Prime Minister Modi claimed, "The Congress-led Chhattisgarh government has seized every opportunity to exploit you. Not even the name of 'Mahadev' was spared. A significant operation recently uncovered a large stash of currency notes in Raipur, believed to belong to gamblers and betting activities. Congress leaders are suspected of amassing wealth from this illegal activity. The media reports suggest links that need investigation."

The Prime Minister demanded answers from the Congress regarding its connections to individuals in Dubai who are implicated in the scandal. He said, "The state government and the Chief Minister must clarify their links with individuals in Dubai accused of involvement in this scam. After the money was seized, the Chief Minister appears flustered and on the defensive. Reports suggest that local leaders are warning us that money might be planted on our leaders, and the police will be sent after them."

Modi emphasized that all scams in the state would be thoroughly investigated and those responsible for looting Chhattisgarh would be held accountable. He listed various scandals, including a liquor scam worth Rs 2000 crore, a cement scam of Rs 500 crore, a rice scam of Rs 5 thousand crore, a Gauthan scam of Rs 1,300 crore, and a DMF scam of Rs 700 crore. He assured the audience that a BJP government would conduct rigorous investigations and send the perpetrators to jail.

"The PSC and Mahadev App scams are already in the headlines, and the Congress government's record is marred by numerous such scandals," added PM Modi.

Modi also accused the Congress of prioritizing nepotism and excluding the public from job opportunities. He stated, "Congress has only deceived the poor and never respected their struggles. As long as Congress was in power at the central level, it continued to exploit the poor."

The Prime Minister promised to "transform" Chhattisgarh if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was elected to power, highlighting the party's history of fulfilling promises. He congratulated the state BJP unit for releasing their manifesto, which he claimed would make the dreams of Chhattisgarh's women, youth, and farmers a reality.

"Chhattisgarh was created by the BJP, and I guarantee that the BJP will shape its future. However, the Congress's focus on corruption stands in contrast to the BJP's commitment. I applaud the entire Chhattisgarh BJP team for presenting a manifesto that prioritizes the aspirations of our state's citizens. The BJP has a track record of delivering on its promises," said PM Modi.

The Chhattisgarh Assembly elections for the 90-member legislature will take place in two phases, with the first phase scheduled for November 7, covering 20 seats, and the remaining 70 seats set for polling on November 17.
